Victoria’s best featured in All-Australian team

The AFL has today announced the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships U18 Girls All-Australian Team with the side to feature a total of nine players from our Victorian Metro (6) and Country (3) squads.

Vic Metro's, Montana Ham (Western Jets/Keilor) was named as a state MVP for her outstanding performance in the championships with Charlotte Baskaran (Western Jets/Aberfeldie), Laura Elliott (Western Jets/Point Cook Centrals), Jasmine Fleming (Oakleigh Chargers/Ashburton), Sofia Hurley (Sandringham Dragons/Port Melbourne) and Rylie Wilcox (Northern Knights/Fitzroy) also selected as representatives. Keeley Skepper (Murray Bushrangers/Shepparton United) was named as the Vic Country state MVP with Amber Clarke (Dandenong Stingrays/Narre North Foxes) and Mackenzie Eardley (Dandenong Stingrays/Beleura) joining her in the side.

Calder Cannons and Vic Metro coach, Jacara Egan was selected as the assistant coach of the side.

The abundance of Victorian talent in the side is a reflection of the quality of football talent throughout the state and is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the players and their community and NAB League clubs. All nine of the Victorian representatives are eligible for this year’s draft.

AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan congratulated everyone selected in the All-Australian team and said it was deserved recognition for their outstanding performance throughout the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships U18 Girls.

“Selection in the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships U18 Girls All-Australian Team is a significant honour and all players selected are thoroughly deserving of their position in the team,” Sheehan said.

“The players selected represent the best young footballers in the country and highlight the quality of talent coming through the national pathway programs.

“We look forward to watching the development of this extremely talented group, many of whom will make the progression into the NAB AFLW competition for the upcoming season.
