Vics into wheelchair champs Grand Final
Victoria will contest the 2022 Toyota Wheelchair AFL National Championships division one Grand Final on Friday November 25 at the Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre, with the match commencing at 1:30pm AEDT.
The Victoria Blue team have swept through the lightning carnival and division one round of the championships this week to go into the decider unbeaten. The Vics will take on either South Australia or Tasmania, with those two teams playing a preliminary final earlier in the day.
Victoria has never won the wheelchair national championships, with South Australia having won all four editions of the annual event, which is being staged for the first time since 2019 because of the COVID pandemic.

9:30am, Division 2 Preliminary Final: ADF Yellow v NSW/ACT
10:30am, Division 1 Preliminary Final: SA v Tas
11:30am, All-Star Match
12:30pm, Division 2 Grand Final: RSL Active v winner of ADF Yellow-NSW/ACT
1:30pm, Division 1 Grand Final: Vic Blue v winner of SA-Tas

Victoria entered two teams into the championships this year, with Victoria White finishing second overall to Victoria Blue after the lightning carnival, meaning both squads went into division one. The White team couldn’t continue that form in the divisional round and finished fourth overall.
The Victorian squad is made up of players from clubs competing in the Victorian Wheelchair Football League.

The event, hosted by Disability Sports Australia (DSA) in partnership with the AFL, gives Australia’s most talented Wheelchair Australian Rules players the opportunity to represent their state/territory against the best in the country.
