Girls first up for Kickstart - All Nations program
Some of the best young girls and boys with Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds from across Victoria will put their football talents on display as part of AFL Victoria’s annual All Nations and Kickstart development program.
In it's 10th year in Victoria, the program is for 14-16 year-olds, with girls involved again for the first time since prior to the pandemic. On Thursday, June 29 girls teams representing Kickstart (Indigenous) and All Nations (multicultural) will compete at Ford Park, Bellfield.
The match, starting at 10:15am AEST, will be live streamed free via the aflvic.tv platform. Users are required to create a free account to watch.
The boys match will take place a week later at the time and venue, on Thursday, July 6.
The All Nations and Kickstart Development program provides players involved with the opportunity to progress on their football pathway and prepare for trialling with Coates Talent League teams in coming years. Players are linked to Next Generation Academy (NGA) programs at AFL clubs.
The All Nations and Kickstart talent program in Victoria has seen a number of AFL players come through such as Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Buku Khamis (Western Bulldogs) and Changkuoth Jiath (Hawthorn).
